Tea Cups not recommended for tea

This morning I got up, and headed down stairs to make myself some tea.  I went to the cabinet to get a cup, but unfortunately for me, there were no mugs left.  I guess I came down a little late and the kids all decided to make themselves tea or coffee.  I was slightly annoyed that there weren't even any to wash.  Then I remembered that we have all those fancy china tea cups.  Why not use one of those?  After all, I had a very good reason for using them - there were not other mugs to use.  The only bummer of the deal was that they're so small, and I knew I wouldn't be able to drink as much as I usually do.
I warmed up my water, took my tea bag out, and was going to put the sugar in.  I knew I had to use less sugar this time because after all, it was a much smaller cup.  So, I added a *tiny* little bit of sugar and went to sit down for morning devo's.  Then I took a sip - ew.  It was way too bitter.  I guess that *tiny* little bit was not enough.  I got up and added a bunch more.  I took a slip and it was *way* too sweet.  I felt like Goldilocks from the Three Bears, only there wasn't another cup for me to drink out of.
So.  I learned my lesson.  I guess I don't know how much sugar to add with a tea cup, and in the future I'll just wait till the others are done with their mugs and wash one.
Unless you know how much sugar to put in a tea cup, don't try it.  It's a painful experience. Especially since I didn't want to waste, and drank that whole (tiny) cup of sweeter-than-southern tea.
